173 boys made history at the Olutsha Rugby Academy launch

The Olutsha Rugby Academy officially launched in May 2025. On the day, 173 boys took part — a historic turnout for youth rugby development in East London.

The launch was supported by Score Drinks, Sasol Abbortsford and long-term partner Summerpride.

Guests on the day included Mr David Dobela, former Border Bulldogs head coach, and Mr Mpumelelo Tshume, current general manager of the Border Rugby Union.

The academy programme includes participation in the BCMM Urban Schools Development Rugby League, giving players competitive game time alongside structured weekly training.
